Democracy Under Attack in Kronenwetter

There is an effort underway by a small group of Kronenwetter residents and by some members of the Village Board to overturn the results of the April 2nd, 2024 election.

This effort is a continuation of a long standing campaign conducted on main stream and social media to smear Trustee Charneski and to sway public opinion to blame Trustee Charneski for employee turnover at Village Hall.

The following snips are from social media postings within the last week.

Is it appropriate and proper for a sitting trustee to “like” an attack on a fellow trustee in a public forum?

Trustee Charneski was reelected by the voters of the Village of Kronenwetter less than 45 days ago. The election results were not particularly close.

At this point these attacks are not just attacks against Trustee Charneski, but are are also attacks against the voters of Kronenwetter. These individuals are trying to overturn the will of the voters of Kronenwetter.

All of the current Kronenwetter Trustees were elected by the citizens of Kronenwetter. It is time for the Trustees to stop attacking their fellow Trustees and work together for the good of the Village.

This post is the opinion of David Baker.
