Kronenwetter Candidate Forum – Question 3

3. In the event that a conflict arises where a County Board Supervisor must decide to support their full-time employer OR the Village you were elected to serve,  how would you assure the residents that your decisions will be based upon your elected position representing a portion of the Kronenwetter residents and not upon your source of full-time employment?  Convince the residents that there is not a conflict of interest. Or, express your opinion on how other candidates might have a conflict of interest that makes you a better candidate to serve as a County Board Member.

Answer

I believe that questions of “Incompatibility” between offices or an office and a position are important concerns for both candidates and voters.

On November 6th, 2023, I shared an article from the Wisconsin Counties Association – Beyond Conflicts of Interest: Understanding the Lesser-Known Doctrine of “Incompatibility” – that provides additional information.

I am not aware of any potential Incompatibility conflicts for either myself or my challenger, Chris Voll.
